LuAnn Sends Lindsay Lohan Encouraging Words
The Countess backs casting LiLo as Liz Taylor.
Lindsay Lohan, Queen of the Comeback? There are plenty of naysayers (right, Rosie O'Donnell?), but LuAnn de Lesseps is willing to give her the benefit of the crown.
"Rosie is entitled to her opinion but I think that the people who cast Lindsay Lohan in this role believe that she will do a great job or they wouldn’t have chosen her," the Countess writes in her weekly column for OK! Magazine about the troubled 25-year-old actress being tapped to play Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime movie.
While on Today, Rosie previously expressed her disapproval of the Liz & Dick casting, "I feel very sorry for [Lindsay]. I think she needs a lot of help. She needs a lot of time away…I don't think she's right for the role, and I don't think she's capable at this point of doing what's needed to portray that character."
Lindsay then fired back telling Access Hollywood, "It's funny that someone you don't know at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing…I know that I'm great and I know that I know Liz Taylor really well."
LuAnn seconds that roll-off-your-back mindset, and advises the gossip fixture to simply "concentrate on making this her best performance ever. It’s important to believe in yourself in spite of what others say."
