London and K. Michelle Spill Secrets About Queens Court Season 2: "I Learned..."
The celebrity queens London and K. Michelle came looking for love. While they were at, they made eye-opening discoveries about men — and themselves.
Finding your king is a journey.
But R&B singer K. Michelle and Flavor of Love winner London “Deelishis” Charles had an incredible one in Season 2 of Queens Court, airing on Peacock and Bravo.
Alongside fellow queen LisaRaye McCoy, the women met nearly two dozen potential Mr. Rights. The men were “handsome, smart, and family-driven,” said K. Michelle.
Of course, also in the mix, she added, “were some egotistical men that I knew had to be narcissists in previous relationships.”
In a revealing The Daily Dish interview, K. Michelle and London reflected on their Queens Court experience and spilled secrets about what to expect on the show and from them.
Why K. Michelle and London Joined Queens Court
For K. Michelle, the chance to do the show came just at the right time: “I said, ‘You know what, I’m going through some things, and it would be nice to do something different.’”
She was also curious “to see what the dating world is like out there,” she added.
A fan of Queens Court Season 1 with Tamar Braxton, Evelyn Lozada, and Nivea, London had reservations about signing on, though.
“There was anxiety. My relationship and my divorce was very public,” she told The Daily Dish. “It was not a happy one.”
Uncertain about whether she wanted to meet a guy or would be able to trust him, she had another concern.
“Do I want the world seeing me that vulnerable?” she said. “I chose yes. I felt that this was a good opportunity for me to finally take that leap for love.”
What London and K. Michelle learned from Queens Court
Guided by husband-and-wife hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete, London and K. Michelle found themselves in unusual situations with the potential kings.
Both queens agreed that game park safaris, ziplining, and perfume-making in and around Atlanta led to unexpected insights.
For London, stepping out of her comfort zone was key in “getting to know myself from a different standpoint. I needed to switch some things up about myself,” she told The Daily Dish.
“I was choosing love based on who chose me. I was just always raised to be submissive,” she said. “I was forced to start looking at myself as the accountable person.”
How the Queens Court hosts helped London and K. Michelle
Both queens agreed that the Peetes were the hosts with the most — and the best-dressed.
“They came in there, they looked like money,” said K. Michelle. “They were my favorite part of the show.”
“Even when cameras were off, they always offered great advice on just life and my career and everything,” added K. Michelle.
London said that one of the couple’s tips left a lasting impression.
“Their thing was, be open-minded and, more importantly, even if you don’t find love, find yourself in this process," she explained.
London and K. Michelle spill on the Queens Court men
K. Michelle was struck by the fact that so many men admitted they felt like they could have done better in their relationships.
“It let me know that men do have heart, you know, they do have a heart,” said K. Michelle. “And they do have feelings. And they do know when they're wrong. I got to see that.”
London made a similar discovery about matters of the heart.
“Men go through things as well,” she said. “A lot of times we think broken hearts and broken relationships are normally just heavy for women, but it’s heavy for the guys too.”
Where are London and K. Michelle now?
Asked what Queens Court viewers can get excited about seeing in Season 2, London teased that there’s a lot to come.
"It’s gonna be a lot of fun, a lot of love, a lot of tears, and a lot of vulnerability," she said.
As for her personally, she said, “I’m looking forward to love. Keep watching. I am looking forward to love and spreading it. I'm a lover girl. That's my thing now.”
K. Michelle, meanwhile, said that she just signed a country music deal in Nashville.
“I’m getting ready for that album. I have a tour … some other TV shows. I’m just working," she explained.
The second season of Queens Court airs on Bravo and Peacock.
