Kelly Ripa Reacts to the Revelation that Lisa Rinna *Almost* Co-Hosted LIVE! with Regis Philbin
She didn't get the gig, but at least Rinna didn't have to deal with this strange situation at LIVE!
As you might recall, earlier this season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Rinna revealed that things could have looked a little different on LIVE! — as she was one of the contenders to perhaps fill the spot once vacated by Kathie Lee Gifford. That's right, the show could have been called LIVE! with Regis and Lisa before Regis Philbin left the program in 2011. "I have quite a history with LIVE! Regis actually told me it was between me and Kelly," Lisa shared, noting she was tied with fellow soap star Kelly Ripa, who would eventually get the gig.
So, when Kelly stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday, she addressed that time in her life and Rinna's. And, you can find out what she had to share in the video above.
Kelly joined LIVE! full-time in 2001. After Regis left the series, Michael Strahan sat by her side for four years. Following his departure, Ryan Seacrest became her co-host in 2017. And perhaps Rinna shouldn't be too upset that the co-hosting gig was eventually filled by Ripa given what Kelly shared about a terrible thing a guest let their dog do in the dressing room in the clip below.
