Lisa Barlow Shares a Health Update on Son Jack: "Going Through a Lot Right Now"
Lisa Barlow's eldest son gave an update on how he's feeling after a recent health scare during his Mormon mission in Colombia.
Lisa Barlow's son Jack Barlow is on the mend after experiencing a terrifying health scare while on his Mormon mission in Colombia.
During The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5, Episode 6, Lisa offered an update on her eldest son — or rather, Jack himself did during a family FaceTime call.
"Oh my gosh, hi!" said Lisa when Jack answered the phone (before asking her son where exactly he was because his background looked so pretty).
"I'm at the finest dining establishment in all of Colombia," he answered, showing his family the burger he was in the process of eating.
Next question: "Are you feeling good?"
"I feel good. I'm feeling healthy," responded Jack. His mom then told him they'd gotten his PET scan back and it looked "amazing."
"I've done every test that they can," said Jack.
"You know, I stress about you," responded Lisa. "I get so worried, so keep us posted." Lisa's younger son, Henry, also chimed in to tell his big brother not to worry, he and his dad were concerned about him, too.
In a confessional, Lisa gave some more background on her son's health problems.
"Jack's been having some health issues, so I'm going through a lot right now," she explained. "Jack's still going for weekly testing, because they haven't figured out exactly what the problem is. But we ruled out a lot of bad things, which makes me super happy and less stressed."
What was Jack Barlow's health scare in Colombia?
Previously, Lisa had told her fellow 'Wives that Jack was hospitalized during his Mormon church mission to Colombia.
"Health-wise, he's like, fledgling a little bit. I don't want to get emotional," she said as she started to tear up. "He's just having some health problems."
As Lisa explained, the 19-year-old woke up in the middle of the night with "the worst pain in his stomach."
"He was like, 'Is it my appendix? What's going on with me?' And he couldn't even stand up," she said in an interview during Season 5, Episode 3. "As a mom, it's like the worst thing to know your kid isn't doing well and you're not there."
Is Jack Barlow still on his mission in Colombia?
Yes. In May, Lisa documented a brief reunion with Jack when he visited home.
“A necessary trip and amazing timing,” she captioned a family photoshoot, which showed her, Jack, and Henry posing with John Barlow their dog, Kendle. “Love seeing my Jack so we could make sure the next 14 months in Colombia he would be completely well. I love seeing his maturity, hearing him speak Spanish and his love of service and the people of Colombia.”
