Lindsay Hubbard Reveals How Much Money She Made for Monetizing Pregnancy: "Why Not?
The Summer House cast member is getting honest about money, her finances, and a six-figure paycheck after giving birth to her daughter, Gemma.
Lindsay Hubbard is getting very real about her financial situation after giving birth for the first time. The Summer House cast member just gave birth to a baby daughter named Gemma Britt Kufe and is now spilling more details about this time in her life, including how she made money. In fact, during her pregnancy, she was making every second count and monetizing what she could.
Lindsay appeared on a Dec. 23 episode of the Trading Secrets podcast where she disclosed that she's made $100,000 from social media. Among those opportunities was when she used a sponsored post on July 4 to announce that she was expecting her first baby, which was "the biggest deal" she has done since social media became her full-time job.
"People were very torn up about this," she revealed, noting that Instagram commenters were upset that she monetized such an important part of her life. "It's like, 'Why not?' I'm gonna make the announcement anyway. Why not make money from it?"
What is Lindsay Hubbard's job?
Lindsay joined the Summer House Season 1 cast as a public relations expert, and opened her own PR firm in 2016. But, as she explained on Trading Secrets, she now does social media full time and no longer works in public relations. "I mean, this is how I'm making my money," she explained. "I'm not doing PR anymore. I'm not sitting behind a desk."
Lindsay's posting on social media is how she is able to support herself, and she revealed that she plans on taking on "as many social brand campaigns" for her daughter. "My expenses just got a whole lot more [involved]," she added.
Lindsay Hubbard shares new insight into relationship with boyfriend
Despite being in a relationship with her mystery boyfriend and giving birth to their baby, Lindsay revealed on the podcast that she values her independence. "I just have always operated better solo," she explained.
This is why she is in no rush to move in with her boyfriend, get engaged to him, or get married. "I am not at all thinking about getting engaged, or you know, getting married. That is the last thing on my mind," she said. "And I'm not even thinking about moving in together right now. I think that we live in a modern world. This is what the universe wanted."
Lindsay Hubbard is "thriving" as a mom since welcoming baby
As she learns to navigate this new chapter with her baby, Lindsay has been loving every single second of it. She's been enjoying this postpartum period, as her boyfriend makes her sandwiches (without her having to ask him for one). She's also been reflecting on her labor and delivery and breastfeeding her daughter.
To use Lindsay's own words, she's "thriving." She took to Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 24 where she posted a photo of her, holding her daughter, while standing in the baby's nursery. "Thriving in my mom era," she wrote in the caption of the post.
