Lala, Andy, Ariana & More React to Vanderpump Rules Switch-Up: "Mixed Feelings"
See what Lala Kent, Andy Cohen, Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney, and more have to say about Vanderpump Rules Season 12 featuring a new cast.
Vanderpump Rules Season 12 has the green light, but for this round, Lisa Vanderpump will call the shots with a whole new group of SUR-vers. To commemorate the bittersweet news, several members of the now-former cast reflected on their experiences over the years on the show.
How Lala Kent said goodbye to Vanderpump Rules
"Where to begin," Lala Kent, who joined the show in Season 6, captioned a series of photos that pulled at all the heartstrings, with images of herself and the cast through the years. "I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who made her way to L.A. I would introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend referred to me as Lala, my nickname quickly stuck. Sur was a place that became home. I found myself not only sipping on vodka sodas there, but behind a hostess stand… it still to this day is the most intimidating job I’ve ever had."
Lala added she had "mixed feelings" about the end of her tenure on the show, but noted that it "changed [her] whole life" and that she was "unbelievably grateful for every moment."
"We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell off," she concluded the caption of the post, which featured snapshots from past cast trips, confessionals, reunions, and more.
Ariana Madix's reaction to the Vanderpump Rules news
Ariana Madix, who officially joined the series in Season 3, also shared a carousel of touching images from her time on the show with various cast mates and production members. "Vanderpump Rules, you will forever be that girl," she began in a lengthy caption that noted her gratitude for being "part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon."
"I was up til 4 am looking for all the right pics and the right words, but there’s no post or caption that could ever encapsulate everything," Ariana reflected. "Thank you to every single crew member, producer, and our showrunners. seeing you guys every summer was like coming home to see family!"
Ariana, who had a challenging Season 10 and 11 after a tumultuous breakup with her longtime boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, also thanked the fans for their "love and support" over the years. "I'm feeling at peace with closing this chapter and I'm excited for everything that is to come," she concluded her post. "I don’t know that these were the best days of our lives, but they were definitely something special."
Katie Maloney's "mixed" feelings about moving on from Vanderpump Rules
Katie Maloney added her two cents on the matter, hopping on her Instagram Stories to share an old cast photo of herself in the SUR scarf minidress uniform of the past.
"It's a mixed bag," Katie began in the caption over the photo. "But I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years."
Andy Cohen's reaction to the Vanderpump Rules recast
And perhaps with the most perfect of sentiments, Andy Cohen echoed the lyrics of the Vanderpump Rules opening song, "Raise Your Glass," simply writing on Twitter (now X), "these were the best days of our lives."
Scheana Shay teases her "next chapter" amid Vanderpump Rules cast switch-up
Scheana Shay paid tribute to her time on Vanderpump Rules with an emotional post (full of throwback photos!) that also referenced the many memes about her from Season 11.
"The end of an era, and the start of something new. I don’t even know where to begin….well maybe first off, thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me," her caption began. "We had one hell of a run! I never could have imagined while shooting the pilot for VPR that it would become what it has, nor go on for as long as it did. To the fans who’ve been with us from the beginning, and to everyone who joined along the way, THANK YOU. Putting our lives out there isn’t always easy, but every time one of y’all reached out to say our stories resonated with you made it all worth it!"
Scheana went on to thank Vanderpump Rules' crew as well as Bravo, writing, "thank you for the experience of a lifetime. I will forever be grateful for the opportunities this show has generated and for the memories we’ve made along the way. We truly have worked with the best cast, crew and been part of so many special moments in each other’s lives."
"Cheers to the next chapter!" Scheana concluded. "The rest is still unwritten…"
James Kennedy's tearful goodbye to Vanderpump Rules
In an Instagram post featuring a few throwback clips and photos, James included the following message: "I can't lie, I'm holding back some tears as I write this. It's been a pleasure being a part of Vanderpump Rules and filling your TV screens with our lives over the past decade. I've dedicated my life to this show and I'm forever grateful to everyone who tuned in. All of my dreams are finally coming true; this year I played Neon Carnival, EDC and Stagecoach and I have a Vegas residency - and I have all of you to thank. It's been a wild ride and I'm excited to see what the future holds. Although this is a bittersweet ending, for me, this is just the beginning! THANK YOU."
When will Vanderpump Rules Season 12 premiere?
Season 12 of VPR will begin production in 2025. The premiere and cast will be announced at a later time.
In a November 26 press release, Bravo revealed that the new batch of SUR-vers are "as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors."
Lisa also gave her take on the news, stating, "The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears and everything in between. I can’t thank enough those who have shared their lives. How I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules."
