Kylie Jenner and Beyoncé Now Both Have Wax Figures — and One of Them Has People in a Tizzy
Oh, and, one of the statues cost a mere $350,000. So, like, NBD.
Kylie Jenner has a new doppelganger, a wax figure made by Madame Tussauds valued at the modest sum of $350,000. Kylie two is currently wearing OG Kylie's sparkling, custom-made Balmain dress that she wore to the Met Gala, where she took the infamous bathroom selfie.
Kylie sat for two hours as Madame Tussauds' artists took 250 measurements to create the likeness — a session that will be revealed on her forthcoming reality series Life of Kylie.
She seems to really like it, too, calling her figure "my girl" and thanking Madame Tussauds for an "amazing honor."
Meanwhile, the Internet is freaking out over Beyoncé's wax figures, which aren't new to Madame Tussauds but were brought into current social media consciousness on Tuesday via one Tussauds patron on Twitter.
Bey's got several figures in different outfits at various Madame Tussauds locations, and people don't think any of them look much — heck, anything — like the star. Social media is reacting with a mixture of confusion, anger, offense, and ridicule.
The mainstream media also feels some type of way; Vogue has gone as far as to call it "whitewashed."
Perhaps a campaign for Bey to get new wax figures is in order, and don't forget the twins.
