Kyle Richards Responds to Comments About Once Sleeping in the Same Bed as Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave
Dorit Kemsley brought the subject up on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Things went from bad to worse between Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley in the May 6 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. After some drama over Kyle calling Dorit out for being late to Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave's ALL IN retreat, Dorit said that she has "a f--king life," which really seemed to escalate the conflict. But there was another comment that really had Kyle scratching her head.
While sitting down with the ladies at the retreat, Dorit remarked that Kyle and Teddi "sleep in the same bed together all the time." Kyle took that as Dorit implying that she and Teddi are closer than just friends. "I don't know if she is jealous of my friendship with Teddi, but bringing up that she stayed in my bed one night, that is really grasping at straws," Kyle said in an interview during the episode. "That's all you got, Dorit?"
When Kyle brought it up at Denise Richards' dinner party later on in the episode, Dorit clarified what she really meant with that remark. "The friendship that you guys have, I feel like it's a [running] pattern where wherever I say anything about you and Teddi, or if I say something that Teddi says, you immediately get this blind defensiveness," she explained.
Dorit elaborated on her comments in an interview during the episode. "Kyle and Teddi are a package deal," she said. "So you know if you're having any issue with one, you're going to have to deal with two people, which makes being friends with both of them extremely frustrating."
Kyle reflected more on Dorit's comments on Twitter as the episode aired. "I grew up with all sisters," she tweeted. "Having a friend sleep in my bed on a trip is totally normal to me."
She then confirmed that Teddi did sleep in her bed during the girls' trip to France in Season 9 of RHOBH, but it was completely innocent. "In an attempt to get back at me for calling her out, Dorit tried [to] make an issue out of Teddi sleeping in my bed one night in Provence," Kyle tweeted. "I mean if anything exciting had happened I'd be happy [to] share. But I am attracted to men. Especially my man. And Teddi is like a little sister."
