Kyle Richards Opens Up About an Emotional “First” Without Mauricio Umansky: “Feel Lost”
RHOBH's Kyle Richards talked about a "strange" moment she experienced without Mauricio Umansky.
There's a first time for everything — and not all of them are pleasant. During Season 14, Episode 5 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards opened up about one of these firsts that she experienced following her split from Mauricio Umansky. Namely, the first party she'd hosted without him.
While sitting down with Sutton Stracke and Jennifer Tilly, Kyle asked them how their outfits for her "diamonds and denim" soirée were coming along.
“It’s my first party I’ve ever done without Mau," she revealed.
In a confessional, she explained how being a solo host was impacting her psyche, especially after throwing so many iconic parties with her husband of 27 years.
“It feels funny to be having my first party alone without Mau being my co-host. There was always something going wrong that he would help with," she said in a confessional before clips from some of their old bashes played. “I feel a little strange, like I don’t know what to put on the invitations. Kyle’s house? Umansky residence? I just feel a little bit lost.”
However, her friends were quick to offer another outlook.
“You might find it liberating," Sutton said. "You might finish the party and be like, ‘Hell yeah, this is Kyle’s house."

As Season 14 has progressed, Kyle has been open about the tough parts of her split. Besides having to put on an event by herself, she shared during Episode 4 that she's scared to grow old alone in general.
"The idea that maybe I could be alone alone as an old person scares me. I mean, wasn’t I supposed to be off with my partner traveling the world and having someone in my bed next to me until the day I die?" she told a producer during the episode. "That’s been the scariest part of this whole process, just not knowing. What does the end look like?”
Are Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky divorced?
Although they split in the summer of 2023, neither Kyle or Mauricio has officially filed for divorce yet.
And though they might not be planning parties together, their relationship is in a good place.
"He’s been out of the house a long time now, and we get along well and we’re always going to be family and very good friends," Kyle told Us Weekly in October. "Right now, we’re just gonna leave it as is."
