As Bravo fans know, Kyle Richards was a household name long before she graced our screens on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The brunette beauty found success early on as a child when she began acting at 5 years-old. "I love acting, it's what I've done all my life and to me, it's a lot easier than doing reality television because you get into a character, you remember your lines and you go home and leave it all behind at the end of the day,” Kyle told The Daily Dish in 2012.
One of Kyle's first major roles was on Little House on the Prairie — which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary later this year.
When was Kyle Richards on Little House on the Prairie?
Kyle landed a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie and appeared in 18 episodes from 1975 to 1982.
She first appeared in Season 2 of the show, taking on the character of Alicia Sanderson Edwards.
Alicia was daughter of widow, Julia Sanderson (Patricia Neal), whose terminal illness and then death introduced the family to the Ingalls. Alicia became the adopted daughter of the Ingalls' family friend, Isaiah Edwards (Victor French), and his second wife, Grace Snyder Edwards (Bonnie Bartlett).

In Season 5, Kyle was cast as Samantha Harper for one episode, but returned in the role of Alicia in Seasons 6 and 8.
Kyle's older sister, Kim Richards, also filmed an episode for Little House on the Prairie on Season 1, playing the character of Olga Nordstrom.

Kyle made her debut as Alicia in Season 2, Episode 7, when Alicia’s mother, Julia Sanderson, died of cancer.
In Episode 8, Alicia and her brothers were placed in the care of Grace and Isaiah, who agreed to raise the Sanderson kids as their own to prevent them from being separated. Alicia and her siblings would eventually go on to take their adoptive parent’s last name.
Kyle went on to act as Alicia on four more episodes in Season 2 and in nine episodes Season 3 before the Edwards family departed Walnut Grove.
She made one-off guest appearances on Seasons 6 and 8, in episodes depicting Isaiah's injury (and need for emotional assistance from the Ingalls family) and then his relapse into alcoholism and return to Walnut Grove following the death of Alicia's older brother, Carl.
Kyle Richards’ Little House on the Prairie Character Samantha Harper
Only in Season 5, Episode 22, Kyle played Samantha, the young daughter of Leslie (Jenny Sulliva) and Brett Harper (Charles Cioffi). Brett was an alcoholic struggling with the accidental death of his eldest son, who Charles Ingalls (Michael Landon) helps get sober and reconnect with his surviving family.
