Kyle Richards Once Perfectly Compared RHOBH Drama to Little House on the Prairie
The actress admitted why her "relationships" on the hit drama series were similar to the ones she's experienced on RHOBH.
As Bravo fans know, Kyle Richards has been a full-time cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since the series debut in 2010. While the show provided a first-time glimpse into her personal life, Kyle had already gained on-camera experience long before then. Kyle found success early when she began acting at 5 years old, leading to her first major role on Little House on the Prairie — which will celebrate its 50th anniversary later this year.
When reflecting on her career, Kyle drew parallels between the events that took place on Little House on the Prairie and the occasional drama she's dealt with on RHOBH over the years.
In a nostalgic promo video, Kyle took a trip down memory lane to revisit some of her favorite episodes from the hit drama series, where she mentioned how the show's story was sometimes similar to the larger-than-life moments on RHOBH.
“I’m Kyle Richards, and I had such a happy time on Little House on the Prairie,” she said in the clip, which then cut to a scene of her as her character, Alicia Sanderson Edwards. “That was little me.”
Kyle went on to explain how she and the other child actors on the show formed a close-knit family, engaging in everything from dressing up to having fights. “It was a lot like my relationships on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” she shared.
She humorously added, “Except back then there were fewer wild animals, and it’s a good thing us housewives don’t have pitchforks.”

When was Kyle Richards on Little House on the Prairie?
Kyle received a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie and appeared in 18 episodes from 1975 to 1982.She first appeared in Season 2 of the show, taking on the character of Alicia Sanderson Edwards.
On Season 5, Kyle was cast as Samantha Harper for one episode, but returned in the role of Alicia in Seasons 6 and 8.
Kyle's older sister, Kim Richards, also filmed an episode for Little House on the Prairie on Season 1, playing the character of Olga Nordstrom.
Kyle Richards compares acting to filming RHOBH
During a 2012 interview with The Daily Dish, Kyle opened up about the differences between acting and filming reality TV. "I love acting, it's what I've done all my life and to me, it's a lot easier than doing reality television because you get into a character, you remember your lines and you go home and leave it all behind at the end of the day,” she explained. “Reality television, it's your life and you can't walk away from it. You're being exposed and the audience is weighing in on your lives and your relationships with your friends and family.”
