Kristen Doute Reveals the Sex of First Baby with Luke: Which VPR & The Valley BFFs Did They Tell?
The Valley couple is set to welcome their first child in 2025 and just revealed the sex of the baby with the help of their BFFs.
Drumroll, please! Kristen Doute, who is currently pregnant with her first baby with fiancé Luke Broderick, just revealed the sex of the baby. The Valley couple is having a... baby girl!
Kristen and Luke shared the news with Us Weekly (about one week after she teased the sex reveal news was coming on their Balancing Act podcast) and revealed how she thinks Luke will be as a dad to a little girl: “Luke was made to be a girl dad.”
The reveal was a team effort as Kristen's longtime BFFS, Brittany Cartwright and Zack Wickham, were in on the secret of the baby's sex. “Luke and I didn’t want to have a big reveal party, but we did want the gender to be revealed to us! Brittany is my best friend and we share an OB, so it made perfect sense to have my doctor call her with the news," Kristen said, adding Zack “kept the secret for almost a week."

For the big event, the couple gathered up those closest to them to celebrate. In addition to a pink smoke cannon, "they had a large bag filled with pink balloons, completely hidden from us, and when we pulled the tie, the balloons came down and we saw we were having a girl."
"Nia and Danny Booko were there and also Tom Schwartz. We also had a ton of friends and family on a private Zoom link for the reveal," she said about letting their inner circle outside of Brittany and Zak in on the secret.
Does Kristen Doute have a name picked out for her baby?
Yes! Kristen noted that the couple have had a name picked out “for a while.” We guess fans will have to stay tuned to find out what it is!
Kristen Doute spills on decorating the baby's nursery
As for the nursery, Kristen and Luke are still thinking up the decor for the baby's bedroom. She said, “I’m still playing with the nursery theme. But regardless of gender, it was always going to be neutral with pops of our chosen accent colors; cozy and a little bit boho.”
When is Kristen Doute's due date?
Kristen is due in June 2025. "Our due date is in June and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!" she told PEOPLE in November.
Kristen Doute teases wedding plans with Luke Broderick
As if having a baby wasn't enough to keep them busy, Kristen and Luke confirmed their engagement in early September. “After we got engaged, Luke, you said to me… ‘We’re not gonna plan a wedding until after babies,’” Kristen recalled on their podcast in September. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, I feel like we’re on the baby train.’ Otherwise, we have to take a break from trying for babies to plan a wedding. We can’t do both. I would prefer not to do both.”
Luke added, “I think, with our timeline, we should have a baby first and then start planning after that,” he said. “And I know that ladies like to be feeling really good in their wedding dress… You don’t want the baby weight. And you also don’t wanna get fitted for a dress and then lose or gain weight if you’re pregnant or you’re whatever. And then have to dress not fit on the day. Like, there’s all these different complications.”?
