Kenya Moore Dishes On Her New Business Venture
"I was 100% involved," says the #RHOA star says of her haircare line.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore is clearly all about paying it forward. Blessed with a "stallion booty" and a full head of beautiful hair, 1993's Miss USA is all about helping other women achieve the same - first with her Booty Bootcamp video and now with her new line of products, Moore Haircare. In a new interview with Sophisticate's Black Hair magazine, Kenya talks about the line and her hair regimen. "I really wanted to help women nurture their hair and empower women to love their own hair," she says.
"For the last three to five years I’ve been developing my own hair care line," Kenya tells the magazine of the process, in which she's been intimately involved. "I am neurotic about anything I put my name on!" she laughs. In addition to researching ingredients, Kenya says, "I interviewed different chemists before I chose the right chemist I wanted to use, I knew what lab I wanted to use."
Moore Haircare will launch with five products: a sulfate-free shampoo, conditioner, a hair mask, a daily oil treatment and hair vitamins. Kenya says the best way to achieve healthy hair is to work at it daily. "It's a routine," she says. "Take care of your hair on a daily basis. This means using the proper products that will help restore your hair to get it healthy, to nourish hair, to retain its moisture."
And for the naysayers who still insist Kenya's long locks aren't natural, "I think it’s a huge compliment," she said. "It’s a compliment because they think its unattainable... I’ve split my hair 17 different ways on Instagram and I’ll have someone say, 'That wasn’t you because we didn’t see your face.' Or I have someone say, 'That’s a full lace wig!'"
