A Gilmore Girls Actress Is Joining the Cast of Dirty John
Bravo's newest series is a far cry from Stars Hollow.
A familiar face is joining the cast of Bravo's upcoming series Dirty John. Keiko Agena, known for playing Lane Kim, Rory Gilmore's best friend on Gilmore Girls, will join Connie Britton, Eric Bana, and many more in the scripted anthology series that is set to premiere in late November. Keiko will play Debra's co-worker Nancy.
Set in Orange County, California and based on the popular LA Times articles and podcast series by Christopher Goffard, this show will prove to be a little different than what we saw in Stars Hollow. As Keiko explains in the clip above: "It's the kind of story that draws you in and is entertaining at the same time."
The series will follow the true story of Debra Newell (Britton), a mother and interior designer who falls in love with the irresistibly charming John Meehan (Bana). But everything isn't as it seems when it comes to John, and what unravels is a shocking story of romance, deceipt, and terror.
So, why should you prepare to get hooked on this series when it premieres later this year? According to Keiko, it's all about the gripping storyline. "Personally for me, I get tense very often when something is so ... tightwire the whole time," she explains. "This show ... I totally have buy-in."
It also helps that the cast is full of compelling female characters. "I cannot watch anything now that doesn't have interesting female characters ... you will get some great characters, both male and female, but definitely the female characters."
