Kathy Griffin: 'I Love Other People's Business!'
Too bad she's not allowing celebs to step foot on her show.
Crazy Hollywood run-ins and TMI personal stories are on Kathy Griffin's menu for her talk show, Kathy, premiering Thursday. Oh, and a side of commentary from her "91-year-old alcoholic" mother Maggie; however, Kathy's keeping her new set a celebrity-free zone.
"No celebrities are invited," she tells Access Hollywood. You don't say? "I'm the person that can talk about the celebrity that is maybe in somebody else's green room but won't be in mine. We have to have a place where you can poke fun at pop culture."
Plus, it's an election year so chatty Kathy already has plenty of ammo lined up. "It's going to be fearless," she predicts about her weekly brouhaha. "I'm gonna let it rip. You know, I'm going to say the things that you're afraid to say. I'll do it for you. I'll say it." What makes her so willing to stick her nose out there? "I love other people's business!" she excitedly admits. "If I could call my show anything else but Kathy, I would call it I Love Other People's Business."
Psst: Here's a hint at what may be to come. "Today's obsessions...Wilson Phillips 'Still Holdin On' reality show & 'Couples Therapy' in VH1. Thoughts???" the feisty one recently tweeted.
