Karen Huger Explains Her Absence from the RHOP Season 9 Reunion (EXCLUSIVE)
Karen Huger's manager issued an exclusive statement to The Daily Dish on the day of the RHOP Season 9 reunion taping.
Karen Huger was noticeably absent from The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 reunion taping in New York City on January 9, and now, her team is explaining why.
In a statement shared exclusively with The Daily Dish, Karen's manager Ryan Tresdale said, "Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today. She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth."
As previously reported, Karen was found guilty on multiple counts after charges were filed related to driving under the influence in Maryland in March.
Karen's lawyer, A. Scott Bolden, released a statement to People on Dec. 18 after the jury reached their verdict. "Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case," he stated.
"We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf," the attorney added. "We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time."
Karen was specifically charged with a DUI and DWI (driving while intoxicated), as well as other charges related to reckless driving, speeding, driving with suspended registration, and not reporting a change of address to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
She was found guilty on all charges except for driving recklessly. Karen's trial began on Tuesday, December 17, and it concluded after two days.
Karen is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29, 2025.
