Julia Allison's New York Dating Woes

Carrie Bradshaw found her Mr. Big, but fellow relationship wordstress Julia Allison didn't fare so well in the Manhattan dating market.

"New York dating wasn't bringing out the best in me any longer. It was bringing out my aggressive, ambitious and slightly caustic self," the Miss Advised star shares with HollywoodLife.

So what's a single girl in the city to do? Move. Far, far away. "I chose L.A. because I thought that was the antithesis of that." But the sunnier side of the country took some adjusting to for the NYC medialebrity. "I had trouble segueing my dating habits from the New York scene, which is super aggressive, and that wasn't going over well here,” Julia tells the site. "The guys here were just like, 'Hey, you wanna hang? Yeah, whenever. Just wear some jeans.'"

Did the land of laidback surfers prove a better fit? "I definitely fell in love," says the 30-year-old. "But we'll have to wait and see whether he's Mr. Right."

By the way – mental note to future Julia – "Don't let your daughters watch Sex & the City unless you first make them sign a binding legal agreement that they will not attempt to become Carrie! Trust me," blogs the former Time Out New York columnist.
