Josh Flagg Shares a Surprising Update on Friendship with Josh Altman: "Obviously..."
MDLLA's Josh Flagg is hopeful that he'll get to a "better place" with Josh Altman.
Josh Flagg's longstanding friendship with Josh Altman hit some major bumps on Season 15 of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, but have the two agents gotten back on track?
On September 11, Josh Flagg chatted exclusively with The Daily Dish about where his relationship with Josh Altman currently stands.
"Obviously Altman and I are not as close as we once were, but we're no longer fighting," he explained. "It would be nice to see us in a better place. I'm hopeful that will come in time."
Back in July 2024, Josh Flagg told The Daily Dish that the two were "civil," but that "one of us will have to make the first move and re-establish our friendship."
Speaking about their fallout in a June interview with The Daily Dish, Josh Altman added, "When you mix business and friendship, it's gonna tend to happen more often than not."
"Especially the two of us, because we're dealing with the same properties a lot... we'll go up against each other a lot," Josh Altman continued. "So I think that probably magnifies it."
Why were Josh Flagg and Josh Altman fighting?
After years of tension on MDLLA, Josh Flagg and Josh Altman became close pals. However, the tension in their relationship returned when Josh Altman took on his Readcrest listing.
According to Josh Flagg, he and Josh Altman had initially toured the property with the intention to co-list it. The homeowners selected a different agent, but Josh Altman said that he continued to follow up on the property. When the first-choice agent didn't sell the property, Josh Altman was asked to take it on.
Josh Flagg explained why he was so hurt by the listing on the Season 15 premiere. As he put it, "Usually when you go on an appointment with somebody as a co-listing agent, you stick to it. There are 100 times that I've gone on listing appointments with Josh, and we've teamed up together. ... I actually value the relationship and conduct myself in the way that I would want him to and I see that he's not playing by the same rules. That's when it bothers me, and it hurts my feelings."
As for his side of the story, Josh Altman said that the homeowner only wanted him to take on the listing.
"I asked her straight up, I was like, 'What about Flagg?'" Josh Altman recalled. "She said straight up, 'I just want you.'"
The two later met up to discuss their issues over coffee (and so Josh Flagg could explain why he sent Josh Altman a pages-long text message). The agents agreed to try to move forward, but they never got fully back on track in their relationship.
