Jim Edmonds on Orange County Housewives: "Those Girls Need That Drama"
The #RHOC hubby weighs in on his rookie season.
Being a baseball legend, Jim Edmonds knows a thing or two about rookie seasons. But it's safe to say that the one he had during his baseball career wasn't marked with this much drama. The former pro joined his wife, Meghan King Edmonds, for Season 10 of Real Housewives of Orange County and it has been a wild ride, mostly filled with Meghan trying to get to the bottom of Vicki Gunvalson's ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers cancer diagnosis. Her investigation into the truth behind his health took place as the Edmonds faced their own battle with cancer (Jim's ex, LeAnn who appeared on RHOC, died from the disease back in July), and it raised questions and definitely led to some arguments.
"To me, the way I try to describe it to my wife, too — cause she gets into it and the big thing was the cancer and all that. My wife was going through something with my ex-wife and she was deep into it with the kids," Jim told CBS Sports Radio. "And she's watching a person die, and then a guy that has cancer that opted not to ever do anything about it was kind of shocking. Here my wife's trying to get my ex-wife into doctors and hospitals, and this guy's getting doors opened for him and he's not even showing up for appointments. So she got a little irritated with that and that kind of blew up.... Those girls need that drama because they need that show to survive. We don't need that."
Jim will join his wife and the rest of the RHOC women when the reunion kicks off on Monday, October 19 at 9/8c.
