Jennifer Pedranti revealed she had been quietly dealing with a health scare throughout Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. But luckily, all seems to be OK.
During Season 18, Episode 14 of RHOC, which aired on October 10, Jenn headed to the doctors office to get a mammogram alongside Heather Dubrow, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Shannon Storms Beador.
"I have a question. I have a lump in my left breast," Jenn shared when the doctor entered the room, to which the professional replied, "No problem, we'll take a look at that too, and then we'll talk about what the results are."
After the doctor left, the women questioned Jennifer about her admission. "When did you find that out?" asked Shannon.
"I noticed it probably like five months ago," Jenn explained, noting she had previously made and canceled two appointments to get the lump examined.
In a confessional, she added, "I have ignored this lump because I cannot add one more thing to my plate. I don't want to have to sit the kids down and deliver more bad news. And one day [fiancée Ryan Boyajian] pointed it out to me, and it was like, 'Okay, this is real. It's time.'"
What was the result of Jennifer Pedranti's breast ultrasound?
While getting an ultrasound after her mammogram, Jenn was relieved to hear her doctor note that she didn't think the lump was cancerous.
"It definitely does not look like cancer. That really looks like it could be something related to surgery," the doctor said. "That's the best gift I could give you: reassurance that everything looks good."
After hearing that she didn't have cancer, Jenn was thrilled.
"Hearing this news is truly like you're carrying around a backpack full of bricks and it's just like, whole backpack off, thank you God, best news ever," she said in a confessional.
Jenn later explained to her castmates that the lump was "nothing" to be concerned about.
"It's tissue from my implant," she said, noting she didn't have to do anything to fix it.
Heather Dubrow reveals her mammogram appointment results
During the episode, all four women discussed the importance of mammograms — even though a couple were scared to undergo the test.
"I had two close family members have breast cancer this year. Being proactive with your health is the best thing you can possibly do," Heather said.
In the video above, Heather shared more about her mammogram experience. "The upsetting news is that my risk factor shot up hugely," she said. "I was so shocked by that news."
