Jenni Pulos: The Ups (and Downs) of Motherhood
Checking in with the Flipping Out star and her adorable daughter Alianna.
Sassy, spunky, endlessly hilarious Jenni Pulos is trying to have it all. She is not only Jeff Lewis' right-hand lady on Flipping Out, but is also adjusting to motherhood.
Since welcoming her daughter Alianna Marika in June 2013, the working mom has been trying to find the balance between her career and parenthood.
"I became a mother late," she tells the Huffington Post. "I had no idea the feelings I would have connecting with this miracle that is now in my life. Parenting is by far the hardest and most rewarding job. It is a game changer."
"It is the greatest gift because the focus shifts off of you and your priorities change. Joy does not begin to express what I feel watching my husband look at his daughter," she adds. "My two dogs love her. My family and extended family love her. I am very grateful for every crazy day. Very grateful is a very great place to be."
And she admits that she feels the push and pull of her dual roles. "As a working mother, my biggest frustration is leaving my child. I am blessed to leave her in wonderful hands where she is happy."
With the frustration, however, comes the joy of watching Alianna grow up. "She recently had her first birthday and shortly after took her first steps saying her name proudly when her tiny legs had moved four times," the Grin and Bear It author says. "I never knew I would have these feelings in my lifetime that no words can express."
Jenni shares that she wants to expand her family and reveals what values she's trying to teach her 1-year-old daughter. Says Jenny: "The importance of faith in God, kindness, and the strength to practice the Golden Rule."
