How Katie Maloney Manages Running Something About Her While Ariana Madix Is in NYC
Ariana applauded her Vanderpump Rules castmate for "holding down the fort" at their sandwich shop: "I’m really lucky and grateful."
Ariana Madix has no trouble keeping busy. Over the past year and a half, the Vanderpump Rules cast member has secured several high-profile job opportunities, including a TV hosting gig and multiple stints on Broadway.
Although her career’s upward trajectory is, no doubt, impressive, some may wonder how she manages to juggle her entertainment projects while running her sandwich shop, Something About Her. Well, Ariana admits it wouldn’t be possible without her SAH co-owner/Vanderpump Rules castmate, Katie Maloney.
Ariana spoke about the partnership during a recent chat with Kristin Chenoweth, explaining how the WeHo sandwich business maintains operations while she’s across the country starring on Broadway.
Ariana says she's "grateful" to have a business partner like Katie
“It’s a lot,” she said about SAH during the sit-down for Interview magazine. “I’m really lucky and grateful that Katie, my business partner, is incredible. She’s holding down the fort, killing it every day in L.A. while I’m here in New York. When we get to be in the shop together, it’s always the best.”
Ariana and Katie began teasing their sandwich shop during Vanderpump Rules Season 9 (2021-2022), saying they wanted to create an eatery unlike anything else.
"We want it to have its own vibe, its own personality,” Ariana said during a 2022 interview on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “A little bit of, like, retail...a wine [and] beer bar, but maybe cocktails as well, depending on the space and if it has the permit for it."

The business partners would spend the following two years completing the shop, which was heavily inspired by Nancy Meyers films. After multiple setbacks and frustrating delays, Ariana and Katie finally launched SAH back in May.
“We have the best [SAH] team,” Ariana told Kristin. “We have the best employees. It’s just a really lovely place to get to spend the day and meet everyone coming in.”

Among the SAH team members is Ann Maddox, the former assistant of Ariana’s ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval. Ann joined the staff earlier this year after she expressed interest in working for a female-led company that offered “upward mobility.”
Ariana touched on the hiring in the August 13 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, confirming Ann was still employed by SAH.
"Yeah, Ann's working with us," she said, to which host Andy Cohen replied, “That is wild.”
