Heather Dubrow and Her Family Celebrate All the Holidays — Including Kwanzaa

The #RHOC 'Wife reveals what inspired the Dubrow family's festive holiday photo.

By Jocelyn Vena

There's no holiday stone left unturned by the Dubrows. And they kicked off the season in style over Thanksgiving weekend by decorating their tree and posing in comfy Christmas-themed PJs. If you think it's odd that Heather Dubrow's crew celebrates Christmas given the fact that they're Jewish, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom wants you to know that she gets in the spirit of all holidays. But, we'll let her explain.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Peacock and the Bravo App.

“We did that pic on our iPhones when we were decorating our Christmas tree. What I think is funny is that everyone says, 'You're Jewish. Why do you have that?' I celebrate everything. Life is about celebrating with your family," she told The Daily Dish at The Abbey in Los Angeles, where she was hosting an event for The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. "Our rabbi said being a good Jew is having traditions — holidays, time together. Also, being a good Jew is being a good member of your family with tradition — whether it’s Hanukkah, Christmas, Easter, Passover, Kwanzaa — we do them all. Anything that gives us family time; we want to expose that to our children."

While we anxiously await the family's Kwnazaa photo, Heather did explain why the crew was rocking Snoopy pajamas for their Christmas snapshot. "Every year I pick something random — this year was specific: we picked Charles M. Schulz because of our EVINE [skincare] line. He’s from Minnesota [where EVINE is based] and I thought Snoopy pajamas would be the perfect thing," she explained. "It was actually our nine-year-old daughter’s idea, because I took my daughters [there] with me. My Katarina said, 'Let’s do Snoopy. He’s from Minnesota.' I said, 'That’s a fabulous idea!'" And, voila, a Christmas photo was born. -Reporting by Paul Zahn
