Harold Dieterle Opens Kin Shop
The Top Chef Season 1 winner adds a second restaurant to his portfolio.
It has been a big last couple of months for Top Chef Season 1 winner Harold Dieterle. First, he married longtime girlfriend Meredith Davies in September, and yesterday he had a baby. Well, not really, but I'm sure it felt like that. Harold opened his second NYC resto -- this one called Kin Shop.
According to Harold, the food is contemporary Thai. "I'm not trying to do anything authentic," he said via e-mail. "Kin Shop also features an open kitchen, so I can smile at the guest while I cook." (I'm sorry, but how cute is that?) Anyway, Harold said that last night's opening night was great, that all of his friends and family came in for support. I, for one, can't wait to try it out, and if it's anything like Perilla I will be in all the time, recognized by the servers, and recommending to anyone that will listen.
