Gia Giudice Opens Up About Being a "Second Mom" to Her Sisters
Teresa Giudice's eldest daughter reveals the advice she gave her younger sisters about sharing their lives with RHONJ viewers.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey fans have watched Gia Giudice grow up. When viewers first met Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice's eldest daughter, she was just a little kid but always seemed wise beyond her years.
Viewers first met Gia more than a decade ago when RHONJ premiered in 2009 — and since then, she's shown many sides of herself, including how creative and business savvy she is, and she's always been there for her three young sisters throughout ups and downs. Now 20 and busy with her studies at college, Gia revealed how she's always found ways to support her siblings.
"I would say I'm very supportive with all of my sisters, and I also am very protective though, because I always just want them to be safe," Gia recently told Bravo Insider. "I always look out for them. I'm like their second mom, so I just want to always guide them in the right direction, be supportive, and give them the best advice."
She then discussed what kind of advice she's shared with Milania, Audriana, and Gabriela over the years. "Just, like, how to act; like, what to wear; like, just how to present yourself and just always present yourself well," she said. "You never want anyone saying anything bad about you. Just the whole being confident as well because that shows through your personality — and just all those things."
Gia always finds ways to honor her little sisters as well. In one Instagram post marking Audriana's birthday, she called her "my little pocket of sunshine!"
In an Instagram post celebrating Gabriella's 16th birthday, Gia opened up about the importance of her sisters in her life. "I understand now when my mom would say as you get older you’ll realize your sisters are gonna be your best friends." She also called Gabriella "the most amazing sister I could ask for." "I couldn’t be more proud to be your older sister," Gia added."You have grown into such a hardworking and independent person, and I admire you for that."
Gia summed up Milania on her birthday as "my beautiful sister. Keep being your crazy self that never fails to make anyone smile, you light up every room!"
Gia will be in her junior year at Rutgers University this fall. "I'm so excited because I have classes in person now as well as online," she said. "So it's, like, kind of best of both worlds, but half my classes are in person, and then half of them are online. College is going to feel normal, which I'm like so excited about, and I am going to be living there, like, full-time this year."
She also still has plans to go to law school once she finishes her undergrad. Gia previously mentioned that her dreams to one day be a lawyer were influenced by her parent's legal issues.
"I am also going to be preparing for law school. So I have to apply to law school, and wherever, whatever law school that I get into, it will obviously determine, like, where I would be going next," she explained to Bravo Insider about where she might live in the future. "But, I don't know. I would definitely branch out of Jersey. Like, when I'm older maybe. I don't know, like after my life [is] established, you know, [and] if I find a person I want to be with and if we want to start our family somewhere else. Or, even out there on my own, but California's cool. But I don't know. But maybe Cali, but that's really it. That's really it."
