Are you ready to meet the newest 'Wife on The Real Housewives of Atlanta? Welcome Shamari DeVoe, "devoted wife, super mom, and businesswoman." The 38-year-old singer hails from Detroit and also considers herself a "marriage ambassador. Mother of Twins. I Sing. I Love. I Create. 1/3 of Blaque," and you can bet she's stoked for this next chapter, adding, "SO excited to officially be joining #RHOA & get my peach!" And, she's already making sure to get her Swagg on and hang  out with NeNe Leakes at her Atlanta-based boutique.

Before you catch her on this upcoming season of RHOA, here are a couple of things you need to know about her.

1. She Was a Member of a '90s Girl Group


This diva and self-proclaimed triple threat is one-third of the multi-platform R&B female group, Blaque. She is the protégé of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez, who discovered and mentored Blaque. She was formerly signed to record labels such as Columbia Records and Universal Records. You've probably heard her angelic voice in your favorite movie — she's recorded songs for motion picture soundtracks such as Honey, On the Line, and Bring It On. She still performs with fellow group member Brandi Williams.

2. She Is Married to New Edition's Ronnie DeVoe

This R&B power couple credit the music industry and Janet Jackson for bringing them together and have remained married for over a decade. Ronnie is a legend in his own right, as a member of New Edition and then Bell Biv Devoe. Together, Shamari and Ronnie have pledged to stay "Married 4 Life" and host an annual Marriage 4 Life walk, which they believe can help couples like themselves. They have committed to being Marriage Ambassadors and believe that a good marriage is a "foundation of ultimately community and family and marriage."

3. She Is a New Mother of Twins!

Her "2 pots of gold," Ronald III and Roman, were born July 14, 2017. Shamari and her husband were married for 16 years before they became pregnant. You can follow her twins on their very own instagram, @DeVoeTwins.

4. You Might Recognize Her from the Big Screen

Her on-screen appearances include cameos in Bring It On and Honey (for which she also recorded songs), as well as Lil Kim's "Ladies Night" music video, and more. What can Shamari DeVoe not do?!

5. She Graduated from Georgia State University

You can add college graduate and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated to the list of her accomplishments. Shamari graduated from George State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
