Garcelle Beauvais Sets the Record Straight on That Charity Donation

There was some confusion over her bid at Kyle Richards' charity event at the RHOBH reunion.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Garcelle Beauvais addressed the claim that the $5,000 she pledged to donate at Kyle Richards' charity event for Children's Hospital Los Angeles was "never paid" in a video in her Instagram Story in advance of Part 1 of the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 10 reunion on September 2.

Garcelle captioned the video "#Settingtherecordstraight." "Hey, guys. I want to take a few moments to say my piece, if you will," she said. "You guys know that I'm a straight shooter, I say it like it is, I try to speak my truth always. I got called out at the reunion of Beverly Hills saying that I bid for a charity event and did not pay for it. I hope you guys know better than that."

She then went on to explain what happened with the donation. "It fell through the cracks in assembly. I was traveling all over the world last year, and it innocently fell through the cracks. Why wouldn't I pay for something that I bid?" Garcelle shared. "This is my character, this is my integrity, I don't play around when it comes to things like that."

Garcelle continued, "I wanted to set the record straight. I know that the show is about drama, but when it comes to who I am as a person, I don't play around with things like that. There, I said it. And now, let's go on with the show."

Garcelle also confirmed on Twitter that "of course" she paid the donation.

Kyle made this claim as the two discussed their disconnect during and after the season, and Garcelle was shocked to hear it. "You better watch what you're saying," Garcelle told Kyle. "That is not true."

Later on in the reunion, host Andy Cohen checked in with Garcelle: "Garcelle, I'm trying to read your face. I can't tell if you're annoyed or just sitting listening."

Garcelle said that she was "a little bit of both" in that moment. "You know, Kyle saying I didn't pay for the thing, which I know I did. I already sent an email to my business manager," Garcelle explained. "It's tough to be in a place where people are judging you and questioning you."
