Throwback Bravo: Is Gallery Girls Star Liz Margulies Still a Part of the Art World?
Join Daryn Carp as she catches up with the outspoken artie from one of her "favorite gone-too-soon shows."
From stunning works of art to fabulous people to an intense division between those repping Brooklyn and proud Manhattanites, Gallery Girls had it all. Thankfully, we have Ask Andy host Daryn Carp to remind us just how amazing this docuseries was in this week's installment of Throwback Bravo.
When Gallery Girls debuted in 2012, we were introduced to six young women hoping to make a name for themselves in the cutthroat world of New York art galleries. One of the most memorable Gallery Girls was Liz Margulies, who was never afraid to speak her mind, whether it was expressing her opinion on a piece of art or lecturing castmate Amy Poliakoff about her behavior. Now that Liz is a little older and a little wiser, is she just as outspoken today? “I definitely tell my friends what they need to hear, but none of my friends would behave like that in the first place, so there’s really no need for lecturing," Liz told Daryn in the clip, above. "I mean, my friends are awesome and respectable and, you know, they have composure, so it’s all good.”
Although Liz is the daughter of prominent art collector Martin Margulies, we saw her experience her fair share of professional ups and downs on Gallery Girls. So is Liz still trying to take the art world by storm these days? “I’m actually getting my master’s in modern and contemporary art from the Sotheby’s Institute,” Liz said. “Eventually, I want to start my own art advisory, but that’s not gonna happen for a little while. I need some experience first and hopefully work for a very well-established art adviser.”
Gallery Girls don't back down from their dreams, after all.
