Fredrik Eklund Shuts Down Instagram Trolls: "Dear Hater, BYE BYE!"

The #MDLNY agent has some words for anyone looking to spew messages of negativity.

Fredrik Eklund wants anyone that's posting messages of hate on his Instagram account to just hit "unfollow." The Million Dollar Listing New York agent headed to IG on Thursday (September 3) to post a lengthy message in reaction to negative comments he's received this week. "This is my feed, my life, my posts and I do what I want here," he wrote. "If you don't like it, or who I am, please unfollow me now. Yes, like right now. I'm all about love and positivity. I have never asked for more followers, and especially not people with nasty comments. If anything, I would like less followers if it means more loving, positive people."

He then specifically addressed followers who have commented about his relationship with his husband Derek, as well as his career working in high-end real estate. "Dear hater, BYE BYE!" he wrote. "I'm glad you are pushing the unfollow button right about now. I can't wait to see my followers come down. So I'll be left with 99% of you. You, the amazing and loving people who make this world better."

I received a bunch of stupid comments here the last few days and I want to respond to them now. This is my feed, my life, my posts and I do what I want here. If you don't like it, or who I am, please unfollow me now. Yes, like right now. I'm all about love and positivity. I have never asked for more followers, and especially not people with nasty comments. If anything, I would like less followers if it means more loving, positive people. 452,000 people are following my account, so perhaps I'm "supposed" to tolerate negativity, like "everyone else", but I just won't. No. I don't allow any negativity in my life, and refuse to see the world in that way. I don't think anyone should. - Yes, I'm gay. You might hate it. But understand I'm gay and I'm really happy with it. So just get over it or move on. I'm in love with another man and we're going to be dads, and I'll post as many photos of me and my HUSBAND kissing as I want. Yes, we are married and it's legal. This week I've been called a faggot, that I'm going to hell, that I'm pathetic, all because of my love, and that's not ok. Not ok at all. - Yes, I sell expensive real estate. Get over it. It's not my fault New York is expensive, nor that artists are pushed out of Manhattan, or that you can't afford what you want to buy. No one ever gave me a dollar, I worked for all that I have, and have sacrificed more than you'll ever know to get here, geographically and personally, to even be able to write this very sentence. If you knew me (or asked) I'm obsessed with history and keeping the integrity of old New York, but while moving it forward. New & old together. This is what I do for a living, I'm proud of it, and I'm just getting started. Dear hater, BYE BYE! I'm glad you are pushing the unfollow button right about now.
