Frank Catania Reveals Why He & Brittany Are Postponing Their Wedding: "No Pressure"
The Real Housewives of New Jersey ex-husband of Dolores Catania and his fiancé Brittany Mattessich share a major update on their plans to marry.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Frank Catania and his fiancé, Brittany Mattessich, are no longer getting married this year. Dolores Catania's ex-husband proposed to Brittany one year ago and they were set to get married this November. However, Frank revealed in a recent interview that they've decided to change their wedding date after their wedding venue in Captiva Island, Florida experienced damage from two hurricanes.
He shared that their wedding venue needed repairs after the back-to-back hurricanes in late September, causing them to push their wedding to the new year. "Hurricane Helene first came through and brought so much sand onto the island that the pools were filled with sand and the golf course and the areas where the ceremony and the reception were to be held were also damaged by water," he explained to People in an interview published October 21. "Even though there was a possibility that the venue could have possibly been repaired for our wedding on Nov. 9, no work commenced because Hurricane Milton was coming the following week."
So much of the couple's wedding journey has already been completed. Brittany had her bridal shower in April and held her bachelorette party in early August. But she will just have to wait a little while longer to finally call herself Mrs. Catania.
When are Frank Catania and Brittany Mattessich getting married now?
After much deliberation and evaluation, the couple decided to get married in 2025, rather than next month. Frank told the publication that they decided it "was better off for us to reschedule for March 29, 2025, which gives the resort ample time to repair the resort back to perfect condition."
Frank explained that this destination in Florida holds a very special place in his family's heart. So, postponing it will be better not only for them but the guests, too.
"Our intention is always for everyone to have a great and relaxed time without any stress," he explained. "We want our guests to have a good time and it just so happens that Brittany and Frank are getting married while they are there. We are putting no pressure on our guests to have to be anywhere other than the ceremony and reception."
Frank Catania says he can't wait to call Brittany Mattessich his "wife"
Frank took to Instagram on September 7, where he posted a Reel featuring different photos and videos of him and Brittany throughout the course of their relationship. At the time, he hinted at their 2024 wedding date in the caption of the post.
"I hope you get everything you wish for and cannot wait to call you my wife this year," he wrote. "Thank you for being my everything and always making me smile and laugh. I am a better person because of you babe. Thank you."
