Why Erika Jayne Is Feeling Really "Proud" of Her Mom, Renee
RHOBH's Erika Jayne revealed that her mom, Renee Chahoy, just started a new chapter in her life.
Erika Jayne has highlighted her relationship with her mom, Renee Chahoy, on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills over the years, and she just shared why she's feeling like a "proud" daughter these days.
The diamond holder took to her Instagram Story on January 2 to post a photo of Renee posing out front of a building at the California Institute of the Arts.
"My little grad school student," Erika wrote over the photo. "Proud of you Mom."
Erika didn't share what exactly her mom was studying at the school, which is located in Santa Clarita, California, or any other details about Renee's new chapter (including whether she'll be staying with Erika as she studies).
Erika Jayne's holiday 2024 plans included her mom, Renee Chahoy
Back in November 2024, Erika caught up with The Daily Dish and she revealed that she was planning to spend some quality time with her mom during the holidays.
"I think I may go see my mom for the holidays," she told us. "Either she will come here — which I hope not, because you drive me insane — but I will probably go to my mom's."
The Southerner added, "It's been a long time since I've been home to Atlanta for the holidays, so I think that this might be a good year. I don't have a dog, I don't have anything holding me [back] so, it'd be nice to go."
Erika Jayne's relationship with her mom, Renee
Renee has popped up on RHOBH several times over the years, and she stayed with Erika in her Spanish bungalow on Season 13. She opened up about their sometimes-complex relationship in an interview on the episode.
"My mother and I are very close — in age," she said on the show about her mother, who had Erika when she was 20. "And a lot of times, growing up, she felt like a sibling instead of a parent. We had a good f-----g time, she and I. I would sneak around and go clubbing with her and her friends."
She explained, "My mother and I have had our good times and our bad times. And yes, there have been times that I didn't want to talk to my mom. She visits me in LA about once a year for a couple days and then we start getting on each other's nerves."
