Erika Girardi Says the Pandemic Led Her to Go on an Antidepressant

Erika Girardi was basically living her best life heading into 2020. Hot off of becoming a New York Times best-selling author, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member made her Broadway debut in Chicago in January of last year.

But as we all know, everything changed. Erika's run in Chicago was cut short when Broadway shut down in March 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. With the whole world practically coming to a halt, Erika shared that she felt a little lost when she left New York City and returned to her life back home in California at that time.

"Like all of us, I'm busy all of the time, and when I came home from New York, it was really silent. And then when I didn't have anything to do, I was walking the halls of the house, and I couldn't sleep," Erika opened up to her fellow Beverly Hills Housewives in the above sneak peek of the RHOBH Season 11 premiere exclusive to Bravo Insider. "And I couldn't shake it, and I couldn't shake it. I was feeling this incredible dread. Who am I if I'm not working? Every day, I woke up, and I dreaded waking up."

So, Erika said that she decided to seek professional help with what she was going through at the time. Erika opens up more about that in the above clip, including what she learned about how to deal with her problems.

The other RHOBH ladies actively listened to Erika and provided a comfortable space for her to share her story, with Lisa Rinna also sharing what she experienced during this difficult time. "There's so much that these women don't know about my life and about my personal life, because you know what? Everyone has problems — everyone," Erika shared. "And the bigger your life is, the bigger your problems are."
