Emily Simpson has a special message for husband Shane Simpson following their family's experience with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, her husband, and their kids were all diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this year.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

Their experience was featured in the December 16 episode of RHOC, marking the first time Emily has ever confirmed their diagnosis, and she opened up more about it in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish this week.

In a phone interview with The Daily Dish, Emily confirmed her kids experienced no symptoms at all. She experienced less severe symptoms, while Shane was hospitalized for eight days and had symptoms including vomiting blood, high fevers, and difficulty breathing. "It was a complete nightmare," Emily said of just how precarious Shane's condition was as they prepared for all scenarios.

In a sweet and emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, December 16, Emily showed love for her longtime partner in the wake of his health scare. "Life without [Shane] would be boring and appropriate," she wrote. "Thank you for not leaving us yet. We need you."

In her interview with The Daily Dish, Emily noted that since her family's recovery from COVID-19, her relationship with Shane has only become stronger.

"We get along so well. We really appreciate each other. I think that's the thing I learned with that [is that] life is so short. You never know [and] something can happen at any moment and take someone away. And, so, instead of wasting energy fighting about stupid stuff or being mad at each other, we really and completely refocused and we're really appreciative of each other — and it's a great space to be in," Emily said.
