Throughout the time she’s spent at home in self-quarantine to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), Emily Simpson has been opening up about her parenting experience. Whether she’s sending her kids on a scavenger hunt to keep them entertained or feeling emotional over her daughter’s haircut, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom hasn’t shied away from sharing it all on social media. Now, she’s spilling one of her best-kept parenting secrets.

How to Watch

On April 16, Emily took to Twitter to ask parents what kinds of things they lie to their children about. She explained that she sometimes throws the artwork her kids make away, and then blames it on the family’s housekeeper! When one Twitter user added that he does the same thing with small toys, Emily admitted that those sometimes get tossed, too.

One follower noted that although Emily’s confession is pretty hilarious, it makes her feel great when her mom displays the art she made as a kid years later. Emily replied to explain that she does “keep lots of things they make” but “just can’t keep it all.”

Another replied to say that they sometimes tell their children that “Target is closed,” to which Emily responded that she tells her children, “‘McDonalds is closed’ every day.”

The little fibs that Emily’s been telling her children to make things easier aren’t the only thing she’s been confessing to on Twitter these days. On April 14, she tweeted, “I ate a whole apple pie yesterday. That’s it. That’s the tweet.” The next day, she followed up and hilariously wrote, “Ok, which one of you is taking screenshots of my tweets and sending them to my trainer?”
