Eddie Redmayne: I'm Obsessed with the Real Housewives
The Golden Globes winner confesses his guilty pleasure to Jennifer Lawrence.
Eddie Redmayne has been gaining Oscar buzz—and just won a Golden Globe—for his portrayal of a young Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. But while speaking to confessed Real Housewives superfan Jennifer Lawrence for a feature in Interview Magazine, the handsome Brit made a startling confession about how he's been unwinding from his grueling press tour.
"I come home from trying to pretend to know about astronomy and physics all day and turn on The Real Housewives," he told an elated Lawrence. "I've been a closet lover of faux-reality TV since The Hills. It's bad."
"I feel like I'm going to cry. We're making a breakthrough," Lawrence responded before recounting her recent visit to Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant. "I went to Pump the other night to meet Lisa Vanderpump. I had her sign a bottle of vodka, and when she gave it to my friend who was with me at the Oscars, my friend said, 'Jennifer, this is so much better than the Oscars!' We took so many pictures with her."
"I can't believe the intricacies of their lives," Redmayne enthused in return. "I want to know how much of it's a sham, how much of it is directed."
"Me too! That's why we're fascinated by it, because, movies, I'm bored with. I know that that's fake," Lawrence agreed.
The two very busy actors also discussed what they do with their rare down time, with Lawrence saying that she occasionally paints and reads, even though what she really wants to do is turn the TV back on. Replied Redmayne: "Get some more Bravo on!"
