Dorit Kemsley Sheds New Light on PK “Blindsiding” Her With New Apartment: “Cut Out”
Dorit Kemsley wasn't happy that Paul "PK" Kemsley moved into a new home without chatting with her first.
Rumors have been swirling about where exactly Paul "PK" Kemsley was initially living during his split from Dorit Kemsley, and now fans know the truth.
During Season 14, Episode 3 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit detailed her estranged husband's decision to move into an apartment shortly after news of their breakup was made public.
"He ended up getting an apartment. When I tried to, like, talk to him about it, he didn't want to talk about it. And then a few days later I found out through a text message that he had moved into this apartment," she shared during the Tuesday, December 3 episode.
Dorit added more in a confessional, confirming that she thought she'd be a bigger part of her husband of nine years' decision to relocate.
"When PK and I separated, we decided we were going to have very open communication for the kids. That was the only way for us to shield them from what was going on," she said. "To sign a lease on an apartment that I know nothing about and expect our children to stay there is a little bit too impulsive and not very considerate."
Earlier in the episode, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky had also chatted about the apartment, which Mauricio had visited and proclaimed lovely.
"He's in his new place. It's beautiful. It's perfect for him," said Mau.
Dorit Kemsley reveals new details about PK's apartment
Dorit shared more about PK's move during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show.
"We had spoken about the apartment. In fact, when I wanted to talk about it, that was kind of what broke communication," she said, alluding to the fact that the pair stopped speaking for a while around the time the scene was filmed. "I didn't expect or know that he went immediately after to sign the lease."
So, while Dorit knew an apartment was on the table, the shock value existed more for the fact that their communication devolved so quickly.
"It was very different to where we started when we separated. It felt like I was blindsided a lot, and I have to tell you, that's a feeling that I really hate. Being blindsided," she added.
The fashionista also said that at this stage in their relationship, she still feels blindsided by some things PK does: "[Blindside] is his middle name. Oh, this man. Bless him."
Was PK Kemsley living in a hotel?
During Season 14, Episode 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, the 'Wives shared that they'd heard a rumor PK was living in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Jennifer Tilly revealed that she'd even seen him there.
Dorit confirmed the rumor during the After Show.
"When PK left, he went straight to a hotel. It was always the intention [to go to an apartment], in fact, at one point I was even looking at apartments online for him. So, it was like we went straight from discussing it to me being completely cut out of the conversation," she explained.
Why did Dorit Kemsley and Paul "PK" Kemsley break up?
While there's no one answer as to why the longtime couple called it quits, Dorit has given some insight on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show.
"It was initiated by [PK]. We had had a rough few years. It wasn't consistently a rough few years, it was just like, good and bad and good and bad. And then it started to get progressively worse," she explained, adding that their traumatic home invasion and the PTSD she was diagnosed with as a result were also issues in their marriage.
As of December 2024, Dorit and PK have yet to file for divorce.
