Dorinda Medley Reflects on Her Breakup with John Mahdessian: "I'm Changing"
The RHONY cast member opens up about her split from her longtime boyfriend.
Dorinda Medley confirmed her split from her boyfriend of seven years, John Mahdessian, during the May 14 episode of The Real Housewives of New York City.
"The breakup with John is sad. I mean, it's terrible, but I also know that I have to do what's best for me now. And I've realized that my expectation levels have grown," she explained in an interview in episode on Thursday. "This is what I want now. This is what I need. And I need to find the right partner that's willing to be engaged in that. And I don't think that's bad. I think that's honesty."
And now Dorinda is elaborating more on the split news featured in the episode (clip above).
"Things are changing, but aren't I telling you that throughout the thing? I'm changing. I'm in a different place. I'm very vulnerable. I don't know what my life is gonna be like, and those are the conversations we're having," Dorinda said in a YouTube video posted this week in response to the episode. "And we realized things are changing. As I keep saying, I'll always love him. He's always going to be a part of my life, but I don't know if it's going to be the same sort of relationship after seven and a half years... So, I don't know. That's it."
Dorinda previously confirmed that while she's not self-quarantining with the Madame Paulette dry cleaning mogul following the breakup, which was first reported in Page Six last September, she has spoken to him since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
