Erika Girardi Had a "Meltdown" at Denise Richards' Wedding — But Not in the Way That You Think
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer's nuptials caused some drama for one celebrity couple.
Denise Richards' wedding to Aaron Phypers in Malibu on September 8, 2018 looked like something out of a fairytale. But not every part of the ceremony was perfect for guests.
Erika Girardi dished all about the nuptials, which we'll see in the upcoming Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, during the January 29 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and she revealed that the guests weren't the only hot thing about the event (clip above). "The last time I saw these two," Erika said pointing to her fellow WWHL guests Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell, "we were sweating our asses off at Denise's wedding in Malibu. I was having a meltdown."
Don't get her wrong; Erika made it clear that she "had a nice time" at Denise's wedding, and she said "it was gorgeous." But it was just too darn hot for the RHOBH songstress. "I almost died at that wedding," Erika joked during the WWHL After Show. "It was like a heatstroke."
Romijn agreed with Erika's assessment of the climate at Denise's wedding. But for her and her husband, who are Bravo superfans, the experience was "surreal," Romijn said on WWHL. "We sort of felt like we had to give you guys your space," she said.
But Erika said that wasn't the case at all. "What are you talking about?" she told Romijn. "We loved having you. That was so much fun to see you guys."
O'Connell teased that "some drama was going down" at the wedding, and the nuptials actually caused some tense moments for the celebrity couple before the ceremony even started. "I had a last-second dress change because we were late and Jerry was like angrily zipping up, he was anger zipping my dress, and my zipper busted. I was like, 'I don't have anything to wear. There's nothing I can do.' He's like, 'I'm going without you!'" Romijn recalled. "And he like stormed down the front stairs, then he came back. He's like, 'All right, find something else.'"
O'Connell then gave his take on the situation: "We were going to that wedding, and it was another highlight of my life. We were not gonna be on time, and I thought for sure it was gonna start right on time."
But then the wedding didn't end up starting for at least another hour and a half to two hours after they arrived, according to Romijn, O'Connell, and Erika, because, well, Real Housewives.
