Lamar Odom to Compete on Dancing with the Stars in One of the Most Famous Lineups Ever
His fellow Season 28 cast members include Christie Brinkley, James Van Der Beek, and more celebs.
In case you've been wondering what Lamar Odom's next career move would be, well, today is your lucky day. The former NBA star will be one of 12 celebrities competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.
The full DWTS Season 28 cast announcement was made on Good Morning America on Wednesday, August 21. Odom appeared in the morning show's New York City studio with a basketball in hand during the big reveal.
Odom first rose to fame as a pro basketball player, most notably for the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won two NBA Championships in 2009 and 2010. However, he would really start to grab headlines for his relationship with Khloe Kardashian, to whom he was married from 2009 to 2016, and for his appearances on Keeping up with the Kardashians. He has also been in the news in recent years for his health problems, including his hospitalization after a near-fatal overdose in a Las Vegas brothel in 2015.
Odom isn't the Kardashians' only tie to DWTS. Kim Kardashian competed on the show in 2008, and her little brother Rob Kardashian later put on his boogie shoes in 2011.
Other celebs competing in Season 28 of DWTS include: Queer Eye's Karamo Brown, The Bachelorette's Hannah Brown, actor James Van Der Beek, supermodel and actress Christie Brinkley, actress Kate Flannery of The Office fame, former NFL star Ray Lewis, country singer Lauren Alaina, singer Ally Brooke who's a former member of Fifth Harmony, former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, actor Kel Mitchell, who is perhaps best known for his work in the '90s Nickelodeon shows All That and Kenan & Kel, and Mary Wilson, a founding member of The Supremes alongside Diana Ross.
