Below Deck's Courtney Skippon Says She Blocked Brian de Saint Pern After He Sent Her "Venomous" Messages

Brian de Saint Pern and Courtney Skippon confirmed during the Below Deck Season 7 After Show above that they did not end up pursuing a relationship after they left Thailand. Unfortunately, things between the deckhand and stew got even worse once the charter season came to an end.

Courtney revealed during Part 1 of the Below Deck Season 7 reunion on February 10 that she stopped communicating with Brian and blocked him after receiving "aggressive" and "venomous" messages from him.

Brian, however, didn't agree with Courtney's characterization of the messages. "I just felt like she was bringing me down on Twitter, and I've never done that to her," he said during the reunion. 

The stew explained her social media posts about her onetime fling. "I've been very general because I feel like all of the issues are things that are sort of fundamental issues and reflections of what's happening in the world and in society right now," she said. "So that's me creating a conversation about what's happening and looking back on it and wanting people to know that I don't think that's OK because I'm not gonna co-sign your behavior by being silent about it because I really don't appreciate the way you've spoke to me a lot of times and the way you've messaged me since."

Courtney recalled some of the messages she received from Brian after the season ended: "That I'm a cold-hearted woman. He doesn't know what he ever saw in me. It gives me anxiety to think about it."

Courtney said that she and Brian did have a genuine connection on the boat. "But I think that you can get a false sense of intimacy a little bit when you're around each other all the time," she explained. "And then you realize that you don't know each other really well, and that's what came out towards the end."

Things between Brian and Courtney really started to fall apart this season after he sent a text about where they each saw their relationship going in the future, implying that the two were "just having some fun" on the yacht. "I did not break up with Courtney over text message," Brian explained his controversial text at the reunion. "The whole story about this text message was because I knew Courtney wasn't so comfortable in front of the cameras, so I wanted us to get on the same level when we had 'the talk.'"

Courtney defended how she reacted to Brian's text this season. He then admitted that he didn't realize how much he hurt her. "I didn't really know that you cried so much, and it broke my heart when I saw the episode because I didn't want that at all," Brian said. "If I could go back, I wouldn't have sent the text. I'm sorry, Courtney."
