Connie Britton Reveals a Surprising Fact About Working with Eric Bana on Dirty John
The woman set to portray Debra Newell in the small screen adaptation opens up about her co-star.
If you're still recovering from Eric Bana's full-on creepiness as the charming, yet dark John Meehan in Bravo's upcoming adaptation of Dirty John, slated for premiere this November, his co-star, Connie Britton, offered some insight into what it was like work with him on the project. Connie, of course, plays his love interest, Orange County interior designer and single mom Debra Newell, in the series adapted from the podcast and Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard's series of articles. And now she's spilling the tea on her co-star and fellow executive producer on the project. So was he equally creepy on set?
“Before I stepped on set with him, somebody said, ‘I heard Eric is really Method, and he doesn’t want anyone with an Australian accent anywhere around him,’” she told American Way. “Well, he’s not. We have a great time. He’s really become an amazing partner on this.”
It turns out that Eric has also only had the best things to say about working with Connie, not that we blame him. "Yeah, it's just nice to be involved from the ground up and so too is Connie. And so we feel like good partners on this project," he told The Daily Dish back in May of working as an executive producer on the series with the former Friday Night Lights star. "I really love her work and [I'm] really excited to get a chance to work with her finally."
And mark your calendars because Dirty John officially premieres Sunday, November 25 at 10/9c. Check out the full trailer above, and sneak a peek of Eric as John himself, below.
