Celebrate Cinco, er, Derby De Mayo
The Bravolebs tell us how to properly party for May 5 and the Kentucky Derby.
What's that sound you hear? It's the tinkle of hundreds of blenders chopping ice into delicious margaritas in honor of the Battle of Puebla. That's right, this Saturday is Cinco de Mayo (and the Kentucky Derby). So we decided to check in with a few of our Bravolebs to see how best to celebrate this duel holiday.
Besides sipping copious Skinnygirl margaritas Bethenny Frankel-style or dining out at a Mexican restaurant designed by Jeff Lewis (who told us last year that he was going to drink plenty of margaritas, Jenni was focused on the chips), you can cook a Top Chef worthy dish for your friends -- Angelo's Sosa's Ceviche Cincho.
Angelo serves the super easy dish (no cooking required) at Anejo, his hyper delicious Hell's Kitchen establishment, but all you need to have it at home is:
1/2 lb. red snapper--medium dice
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbl. jalapeño, small dice
2 tbl. tomatillo, small dice
2 tbl. red onion, small dice
2 tbl. avocado, medium dice
1/2 tbl. pumpkin seed, toasted
2 tbl. lime juice
1 tbl. yuzu juice
Combine according to Angelo's specs and you'll be sure to have an amazing Cinco celebration. Just don't forget the most important: the proper way to take a tequila shot. Learn from Vicki and Tamra's mistakes.
Celebrating the Kentucky Derby instead? Well, you'll need a fabulous hat, and our Housewives have those in spades. Check out our gallery of their best lids (including shots of The Real Housewives of Orange County ladies enjoying the derby).
