Caroline Manzo’s Granddaughter Is Officially a First Grader! See the Adorable Back-to-School Pics
Caroline Manzo’s granddaughter, Markie Scalia, showed off her style and “sass” as she posed for her first day of school.
Caroline Manzo’s granddaughter, Markie Scalia, is growing up fast! Believe it or not, the little one is officially a first grader — and she served up tons of style and “sass” on her first day of school.
Lauren Manzo’s daughter, who Caroline calls her “little chickpea,” has always been the apple of her grandmother’s eye. Over the years, the Manzo’d with Children and The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum has shared plenty of updates about Markie, and each one is more adorable than the last.
There was the time Caroline and her husband, Al Manzo, hosted a Mickey Mouse–themed luncheon at the Brownstone when Markie turned 3. For Christmas that year, Markie’s family surprised her with the sweetest holiday playhouse. And of course, between all the celebrations, the little one has been checking off one milestone after the next at school.

In her September 6 Instagram Stories, Caroline shared a photo of Markie standing in front of the house, ready to jet off to school. “My beautiful little first grader,” the proud grandma captioned the snap.
In the photo, Markie held a sign that listed her age as 6 and a half years old. The colorful chalkboard also listed Markie’s loves, which include her family, her friends, and Barbie. In another photo, Markie showed off her cheetah-printed pink skirt and a stylish black tank top, posing with a model’s flair. “Look at that sass,” Caroline captioned the pic.
Markie’s back-to-school moment is a reminder of how the months fly by! It seems like just yesterday when Lauren took to Instagram to show off her daughter’s last-day-of-school look. In fact, it was back in June.
The kindergarten graduate wore wide-legged black pants and a ruffled top to match. She pulled her hair back into a printed scrunchie. Note that Markie had some delightfully accessorized hair for her first-grade debut too. In the pics above, her look is topped off with an adorable pink satin bow.
Markie’s great style isn’t limited to her wardrobe. The first grader also has a newly decorated bedroom, which Lauren showed off in a recent Instagram pic.
Markie’s new bedroom has chic pale gray walls accented with white molding. The walls are adorned with ornate white frames around white flowers, and it seems Markie even added a few decorations of her own. Taped to the kiddo’s headboard are drawings that appear to be Markie’s originals.
