Caroline Manzo Sticks Up for Stay-at-Home Moms
The Jersey 'Wife responds to Hilary Rosen's Romney jab.
Looks like Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen isn't getting an invitation to Sunday dinner at the Manzos any time soon.
"I am beyond insulted by that remark," The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Caroline Manzo stated on Fox News, calling out Hilary's criticism that Mitt Romney's wife Ann wasn't fit to speak about economic issues facing women because she's "never worked a day in her life."
That's right, Rosen. Momma Manzo did serious work molding Albie, Chris, and Lauren into the sweet, wonderful, and mother-defending kids they are today.
With her proud-mama-guns blazing, Caroline continued, "I speak, I hope, for millions of women across the country that are mothers, whether you are a stay-at-home or a working mom. There is no job more difficult than a parent's job. . .so to suggest that this woman doesn't have anything to offer this country because she is a stay-at-home mom, you have just insulted every woman in the United States of America. That's what you did and I don't know how you're going to come back from that."
Michelle Obama, is that you clapping? The First Lady herself took to Twitter to echo a similar Hilarygate message, "Every mother works hard, and every woman deserves to be respected."
Adding one last powerful flame to her political fire, Caroline tossed Rosen's -- who has since apologized to Ann Romney --- own madre into the mix. (Yup, she went there.) "I wonder what your mother has to say about that. What a slap in the face."
