Former First Lady of France Carla Bruni Has This Advice for Melania Trump
The singer also rated Donald Trump's appearance.
Carla Bruni, the former First Lady of France, appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen last night — and she was ready to talk President Donald Trump. Andy asked Bruni to share her best advice for Melania Trump, and Bruni gamely replied.
"The advice is ... it's not the person that really counts, it's the position. So the person sort of goes behind the position. So when you get criticized or something, it's not you. It's just the position," she said.
Speaking of the high-profile position, Bruni revealed that she had some fashionable perks while in the role. When she had to attend special events, she had confections from French labels such as Dior, Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Azzedine Alaïa at her disposal. "It was the best of the best," she said.
Even though the singer is always dressed to the nines, some people feel free to criticize her looks. Ahem. During "Plead the Fifth," Andy asked Bruni for her reaction to Donald Trump's criticism of her appearance. Quick background: Trump once had some unkind things to say about Bruni on The Howard Stern Show — which was news to Andy's guest!
"He criticized my appearance?" Bruni asked. To find out her reaction upon learning that The Donald called her "flat-chested," watch the clip above.
