Captain Sandy Yawn Thinks One Below Deck Med Yachtie Is a "Captain in the Making"
The #BelowDeckMed boss sees a promising future for this member of her crew.
The Sirocco crew has experienced many challenges this season of Below Deck Mediterranean, but it seems like they're finally hitting their stride. That is so much that case that Captain Sandy Yawn now sees one of her crew members going far in the yachting biz.
Captain Sandy tweeted during Tuesday night's episode that she thinks deckhand Malia White is a "captain in the making."
And that's exactly what Malia is aiming for, she revealed during the episode, especially with her crush Wes Walton as her teacher. "I want to always reach for more. I want to be the captain. I'm a very studious person, and Wes is a great leader," she said during the episode. "It's pretty sexy, you know? I like being taught something new."
Captain Sandy is certainly supportive of more women becoming captains, tweeting all about "#girlpower" and "#womenempowerment," especially in the yachting industry. "[I]f you can see it, you can be it!" she tweeted.
As for Malia attracting the attention of many of her male crew members, Captain Sandy said that the deckhand just seems to be "a human magnet."
Malia wasn't the only one to receive praise from Captain Sandy. The Below Deck Med boss also applauded Wes' work in untangling the yacht's anchors at the beginning of the episode.
