Broadway by Bravo: Kara DioGuardi Bound for 'Chicago'
Platinum Hit judge stepping into Roxie Hart's shoes.
Role reversal much? After years of doling out guidance to aspiring musical talents on Platinum Hit and American Idol, Kara DioGuardi is now getting some schooling in the ways of Broadway. "I'm going to be in Chicago on Broadway in September," she tells the New York Post. "I'm going to be Roxie, taking over the role Christie Brinkley was in."
The show marks a first for Kara, who credits her time spent on the Idol judges' panel for bringing her into this new arena. "I have Idol to thank for all the great things I'm getting to do. It's opened up a whole new world for me, and I'm much more confident than I was before," says the hugely successful songwriter, who's penned hits for Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Hilary Duff, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears and Enrique Iglesias and... well, you get the idea.
Now there's just one thing left causing Kara's nerves to jitter when she thinks about taking center stage: her moves. "I have to say the dancing's the problem, because I'm not a great dancer," she confessed on Live! with Regis & Kelly. "My hips have never moved the way they're moving now. I'm really working hard on it."
