Bethenny Frankel: Why I'm Returning to 'RHONY'
The original Manhattan housewife explains why the timing is just right.
Bethenny Frankel once said "never say never" when asked if she would ever return to the franchise that made her a household name…and now she is as good as her word. The reality star announced yesterday that she will be returning to The Real Housewives of New York City for the show's seventh season.
Now, in a candid post on her website, Bethenny reveals why she chose to "return to my roots" after her talk show ended earlier this year. "After my talk show ended, I really had doubts about ever going back to television," she reveals, before referencing her very public divorce from ex Jason Hoppy. "I’ve been through a lot personally, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to expose myself to any more public scrutiny."
"That said, I’ve been so fortunate to be able to connect with the audience and inspire them to fulfill their wildest dreams. I learned a lot about myself through that experience," the founder of the Skinnygirl empire writes. "I really need to be able to express myself freely and creatively; I like when no two days are the same, and I don’t thrive when being filtered or edited."
"When I joined The Real Housewives (originally named Manhattan Moms), I was financially, personally, and professionally insecure. Embarking on that adventure with you and with Bravo changed my life forever," Bethenny continues. "I have been through a long and arduous road since my departure, and I’m finally coming out on the other side. It finally feels right to go home."
Bethenny also details why this is the perfect time for her to return. "The idea of doing the show feels exciting and refreshing, like it did at the beginning all those years ago. New faces, new circumstances, and in many ways, a new me and a new life," the mom writes.
There will definitely be a lot of new faces for Bethenny who, in addition to joining old co-stars Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps, and Sonja Morgan, will now be interacting on the show with newer housewives Kristen Taekman, Carole Radziwill, and Heather Thomson.
