Gary King Shares a Surprising Update on His Friendships with Colin MacRae and Daisy Kelliher
Following the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 reunion, Gary revealed where things stand with Colin and Daisy.
The intense second and final part of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 reunion concluded with an unfortunate update from Daisy Kelliher, Colin MacRae, and Gary King about where they stood in their friendships with one another.
After becoming a close-knit trio on Seasons 2 and 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Gary, Daisy, and Colin’s dynamic became complicated on the fourth season due to their love triangle. Once the charter season concluded, Daisy and Colin’s fling came to an end, and Daisy stopped speaking to Gary.
Just a few days after Part 2 of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion aired, Gary took to Instagram to share another update on his friendships with his Parsifal III crewmates. Keep reading for a refresher on what was said during the reunion and to find out what Gary revealed in his post.
Gary King’s Friendships with Colin MacRae and Daisy Kelliher
On July 21, just two days after the reunion wrapped up in the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Clubhouse, Gary posted a selfie with Colin and Daisy on his Instagram feed. In the caption of his photo, Gary shared a positive update on where he stands with the engineer and chief stew today.
“Contrary to what many of you may believe, I am still friends with Colin and Daisy,” he wrote. “Last season of [Below Deck Sailing Yacht] was not my best, having watched some episodes I know that I have a lot of work and growing to do and will do everything to be a better person.”
Gary went on to address the viewers who had been critical of his actions when Season 4 aired.
“To all those people that constantly comment negatively and try [to] bring me down, sticks and stones! You will not bring me down,” he continued. “For all the people who support me and message nice things, thank you[,] appreciate it all.”
What Daisy, Colin, and Gary Said During the Reunion
Though Gary is now in a good place with Daisy and Colin, things were tense for the three on Part 2 of the reunion.
After Colin learned that Daisy and Gary had secretly hooked up before Season 4, he found it difficult to trust his longtime friend. Gary also had mixed feelings about the idea of Daisy and Colin pursuing a romance.
On the reunion, Daisy noted that Colin made her feel “guilty” about her relationship with Gary while they were together, so she ended up cutting off communication with the first mate after filming. Once Colin and Daisy ended their fling, the engineer was apparently able to move forward with Gary.
“We’re friends. Gary messaged me yesterday, you know, [asking] how am I feeling going into today. I said, ‘Yeah, I’m going to speak my mind, I’m going to say some things, but nothing I haven’t said to your face about how I was feeling,’” Colin said during the reunion. “So, yeah, we’re OK. I forgave both of them… It’s fresh, there’s a lot of emotion. I think Gary and I are going to be OK, and we’ll see about Daisy and I, but I’m open for it.”
Gary agreed with the engineer, adding, “I think Colin and I are pretty good. We still chat every now and then.”
He didn’t feel as confident about the future of his friendship with Daisy, however.
“Dais, also I guess, yeah, it’s a rocky, rocky relationship,” Gary said. “If we ever have to work together in the future, it’ll be a professional relationship, but I don’t ever think we’re going to be how we were, so, yeah, unfortunately. That’s just me being honest.”
For her part, Daisy shared that she wanted to move “onwards and upwards” with Gary and Colin. According to Gary’s Instagram post, it looks as if there may be a path forward for the three.
