Austen Kroll Reveals the Exterior of His New Bar, By the Way: "Countdown Is On" (PHOTO)
The Southern Charm cast member shared a sneak peek at the new establishment he is opening with Craig Conover.
Austen Kroll and Craig Conover's new restaurant and bar, By the Way, is opening soon, and we just got a peek at the establishment's exterior.
On November 24, Austen took to his Instagram Stories to share a snapshot outside By the Way. "Countdown is on," the Southern Charm cast member wrote over the photo, which showed off the Charleston restaurant's cream-colored exterior walls and name printed over the entryway which featured a large wooden door with a porthole window.
The entryway also featured two female figures holding what appeared to be orbs flanking either side of the door and an overhead light casting a warm glow.
Details on Austen Kroll and Craig Conover's New Bar
By the Way is a collaboration between Austen, Craig, and Uptown Hospitality Group.
In a January interview with Entertainment Tonight, Craig revealed what he and Austen have in mind with the business.
“Charleston has grown so much in the last few years and brought in a lot of travelers, so we wanted to create a space where locals and travelers could hang out together and enjoy the neighborhood,” Craig shared at the time. “It’s going to be a really intimate space. We put a lot of thought into the design to try and make it as warm and inviting as possible. We’re leaning into the local, upscale, tavern vibes, so the menu is going to have elevated bar fare and approachable cocktails.”
In addition to the above shot of the exterior, Austen and Craig have shared several sneak peeks at the new venture, with photos of the bar’s renovation process and a view of the food menu
Though the pair continue to collaborate, they've had their share of challenges along the way. In a September interview with Life & Style, Craig said he and his business partner "butt heads a lot" working together on their various joint projects.
“We have to be careful because we’ve got our podcast and we also own Carriage House in NYC," he shared. "It’s definitely put stress on our relationship — but it also pulls us through a lot of things.”
When does By the Way open?
During a November 2 Instagram Q&A, Craig revealed that "the goal is December" for opening By the Way, implying that he and his team are still on schedule to open before the end of the year.
